Isotachs

Source: http://stresscretegroup.com/technical-resources/wind-maps/american-isotach-wind-map.asp

Much like the other types of maps beginning with the prefix 'iso', Isotachs connect lines with places of equal numeric value. However, these lines connect to areas with equal wind speeds. The image I have included is an image of the U.S. with isotachs lines running across the North East and the South East. The lines appear to be close together, which means that numeric value is not representing a larger area. It means that the numbers change rapidly, and change as they moves across different areas in these states. As you can see, Florida has 45- 67 mph winds.
