Bivariate Choropleth Maps

Source: http://proceedings.esri.com/library/userconf/proc99/proceed/papers/pap171/p171.htm

A Bivariate Choropleth map is similar to the choropleth map, except it represents two values. The prefix 'bi' meaning two, helps to explain what it entails. This map I have chosen uses the dots as well, which are sized based on their range. However, there are two different color dots, each representing something separate. It is easier to interpret what the map states, since the dots are on top of one another, allowing us to see the size difference.
