Isobars

Isobars are a type of Isoline map. The prefix 'iso' means equal. These maps have lines that connect areas of equal atmospheric pressure. They can point out ares on our weather maps with high and low pressures. They can also tell us how intense the weather system is. On the weather reports, there is often an 'H' for high pressure system, and an 'L' for a low pressure system. Low pressure areas will generally experience rainfall, while high pressure areas will experience a clear day.

The map I have chosen is of some low and high pressure systems across the U.S. and into the Gulf area. Areas that would experience rain in this system would be  Northern Texas, and Southern California. Michigan would be experiencing ideal sunny weather.
