Cartograms

Cartograms can come in all shapes and sizes. These maps are not based off of actual land size. They are  created to show non-geographic areas, but rather represent other information about the world including, population, politics and religion. This map that I have included is a cartogram of the world based off of population. This map shows how overpopulated some countries are. China and India are much larger than they actually are, showing how much more populated these countries are compared to Russia right above them which is barely visible.
