Choropleth maps use color shades to display quantitave information. The scale helps to distinguish intensity of the data it is presenting. On this map, dark green represents higher percentages of Hispanics in different cities in Florida. Miami is one of this cities on this map where 35.7-57.3 percent of the population are hispanic. Other cities, such as Tampa, have a much lower percentage of 4.1-7.5. It is best for Choropleth maps to use shading, rather than colors of the rainbow (such as hypsometric maps), because it is a better representation of value.
